DataObjects.NET is database persistence layer for .NET Framework. It dramatically decreases development time by handling persistence of your classes transparently - DataObjects.NET PetShop sample (Microsoft's .NET Pet Shop clone) contains 3 times less business and data tier code then its original exposing much more features including access control and editing support.DataObjects.NET handles all types of relationships, has extremally powerful access control system, automatic transaction management, automatically updates the database schema, supports queries (including full-text queries), multilingual properties, "browse past" mode (an ability to "see" the database at any previous point in time), .NET Remoting and much more.Most popular RDBMS are supported: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 2005, MSDE 2000, Microsoft Access, Oracle, Firebird (Interbase), MaxDB (SAP DB).DataObjects.NET was designed with one key requirement in mind - to provide a solid platform for development of persistent business objects. Any persistent object always represents a business entity that can be safely used by external clients (e.g. connected via .NET Remoting) as well as by the application. Execution of all business methods (including property readwrite methods) is controlled by built-in security system - so any method invocation will be blocked (a SecurityException will be thrown) if active user has no permission to invoke it. This system supports per-instance access control lists (allow-deny lists), users, roles and permissions - within NTFS-like permission inheritance.
